Key aims:

FACE operate a "one stop shop" for all those concerned about making sure that children understand how their food is produced, and how the countryside is looked after.

In order to reduce confusion and duplication of effort we will be:

forging links with schools to ensure that teachers know exactly how FACE can
help them bring alive classroom study about food, farming and countryside issues;

working closely with farmers and their families to help make certain that the visits
they host are fun, memorable and above all - useful;

joining forces with publishers of educational materials - from leaflets and books
to posters and videos - so that FACE is always able to sent out the right materials,
of high quality, and;

working with student teachers in universities and colleges to raise awareness of
the value of farm and horticultural nursery visits.

If you are a nursery group leader ...

If you are a school pupil, student or parent ...

FACE has a wealth of free information available that will help reinforce classroom learning and improve understanding of key issues such as food production, animal welfare and sustainable development.

If you are a farmer or a grower ...

A visit to your farm or nursery could enrich a child's education. FACE can help put you in touch with schools in your area that would like to visit a farm, and can also provide you with all the help, information and training you need to make that visit educationally worthwhile - and fun aswell! We can also let you have freee publications that will provide you with a host of ideas to help children learn, discover and explore while visiting your farm.
