to pursue appropriate recreational and educational needs,
to manage the habitat for wildlife conservation and
to maintain the historic landscape.
To
provide access and adequate facilities for all user
groups, an ongoing events programme and site interpretation.
Services
and Publications:
They
provide a self-guided education pack with various activities
and all the information needed to organise a school
visit.
A
museum depicting the history of the now demolished Royal
Victoria Military Hospital can be found in the Netley
Chapel within the park.
The
site's formal parkland was created following the construction
of the hospital in 1863, and is home to various species
of none-native trees which were planted for ornamental
purposes. These, along with native species can be seen
when using the Tree Trail that looks at the origins,
properties, uses and folklore associated with each tree.
The trail is about 2 miles long and should take 1 hour.
